Role of the Fire Department The Clinton Fire Department provides fire and rescue services for the City of Clinton and Sampson County. The ISO rating in the City is 5 for commercial, and 6 for residential. The county area is rated at 9. Clinton Fire Department has been providing fire services since the beginning of the 1900’s. The department recently took on rescue services in 2003, working in conjunction with Clinton-Sampson Rescue and E.M.S. Clinton Fire Department is certified as a Heavy Rescue Provider with the North Carolina Association of Rescue and E.M.S., as well as being a Trench Rescue, Confined Space, and Structural Collapse Rescue Provider.
Todd Solice was appointed to Fire Chief in September 2009. Previously, he was the deputy chief of the department since 2001. Todd joined the Clinton Fire Department in November of 1989 as a part-time firefighter. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1996 and then to Captain in 1999. Todd is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the fire department.
