Role of the Police Department
The Clinton Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency. The department is responsible for the enforcement of all local and state laws and the investigation of any crimes within the city limits of Clinton, North Carolina. The department is currently composed of 33 full-time sworn police officers, two civilian support staff members, one parking enforcement (non-sworn), one animal control (non-sworn), and 10 reserve officers. The police department is divided into two sections: Administration and Operations.

Chief Mike Brim has been Police Chief in Clinton since 2004. Before coming to Clinton, the Chief was a Captain with the Kernersville Police Department. Chief Brim received a Bachelor’s Degree from John Wesley College and a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and is a member of both the North Carolina and International Association of Chiefs of Police.
