The Clinton Recreation and Parks Department maintains four city parks- Royal Lane Park, Fisher Drive Park, Sampson Center Park, and Newkirk Park - for the enjoyment of all Clinton residents and visitors. We also operate the Bellamy Recreation Center, Sampson Center, and Royal Lane Center to provide leisure activities and programs to our citizens. City Parks Location Map

Royal Lane Park- 135 Royal Lane

Royal Lane Park provides 79 acres of playgrounds, picnic areas, fields, courts, trails, and open space for your enjoyment. 

Playgrounds
Playgrounds are located at all city parks, including five at Royal Lane Park



Picnic Areas
Picnic shelters are available for rent at Royal Lane, Newkirk, and Sampson Center Parks.


Baseball & Softball Fields
Baseball and softball are played on seven different fields at Royal Lane, one field at the
Sampson Center, and one field at Fisher Drive Park.


Soccer Fields
Two small soccer fields and one large soccer field are located at Royal Lane Park.


Multipurpose Field
The multipurpose field is used for football and soccer. It is located in the center of Royal Lane Park.


 
Outdoor Track
The outdoor track is around the multipurpose field. It is ¼-mile long with marked lanes.


Outdoor Fitness & Nature Trails
The Fitness Trail begins behind the Bellamy Center and feature 10 exercise stations along a ½-mile trail. The nature trail is approximately ¼-mile long and goes through a small wooded area to the back of the Amphitheater.



City Pool
The pool at Royal Lane Park is only open during the summer from 1:00-7:00. Swim lessons are offered in the morning and evening for $35 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Daily admission is $2 for children 15 years of age and under, $3 for adults 16 – 54, $1 for senior adults age 55 and older and adults with disabilities.



Outdoor Basketball Courts
Royal Lane Park offers two outdoor basketball courts. Another outdoor court is located at Newkirk Park on Ferrell Street.



Shuffleboard Courts
These four courts are available most of the year. Each spring, the Clinton Recreation Department hosts the Mid-Carolina Area Agency on Aging Local Senior Games Shuffleboard Competition.



Tennis Courts
Eight lighted tennis courts are available at Royal Lane Park. Lights can be turned on at dusk and they will stay on for 1 hour. Players can reset the lights for another hour at a time.



Amphitheater
The amphitheater is nestled in the woods at Royal Lane Park. It is great for outdoor events such as outdoor plays, concerts, or ceremonies.



Bellamy Recreation Center- 500 Pierce St.  

The Bellamy Center is located at Royal Lane Park. It hosts several programs and activities including basketball, senior activities, and summer day camp. Sampson Center- 808 Barden St.

The Sampson Center is located on Barden Drive. It hosts several programs and activities including basketball, volleyball, and baseball. For more information about the Sampson Center hours, activities, and programs, please contact the center office at (910) 299-4906 ext. 3069.
